Pure Prevention is a new campaign from the Breast Cancer Fund and LUNA Bar to raise awareness about the environmental causes of breast cancer and empower us to live actively, healthy and well.

Because only 1 out of 10 women who have breast cancer have a genetic history of the disease, what we put on and in our bodies can make the difference. By learning the facts, we can make smart choices about the products we use every day.

LUNA and the Breast Cancer Fund (BCF) have worked together since 1999, generating more than $2 million for the nonprofit’s education and advocacy efforts surrounding the environmental causes of breast cancer. As part of Pure Prevention, LUNA has created a new co-branded flavor, Berry Almond, to honor the work of the Breast Cancer Fund and to spread the word that prevention is possible.

Support for BCF has been at the core of LUNA ‘s cause-related spending, which has included collaborations on packaging, promotions, event sponsorship, sampling and dedicated events, such as the LUNAFEST traveling film festival and Team LUNA CHIX. 

In response to the public health crisis of breast cancer, the Breast Cancer Fund (BCF) identifies — and advocates for elimination of — the environmental and other preventable causes of the disease. Founded in 1992, the Breast Cancer Fund works from the knowledge that breast cancer is not simply a personal tragedy, but a public health priority that demands action from all.

The Breast Cancer Fund is dedicated to the women who find the courage to face the disease and is committed to informing and mobilizing a public to be unrelenting in preventing the disease from striking more people. The Breast Cancer Fund’s programs range from strengthening environmental health policy to organizing International Summits on Breast Cancer and the Environment. BCF is essential to securing the institutional changes and policy reforms necessary to eliminate the environmental links to breast cancer.

With this work, BCF seeks to do justice to the women whose struggle and dedication inspire our resolve. By working together, with daring, dedication, and determination, we can move mountains, one step at a time.  

LUNA is an active sponsor of the Breast Cancer Fund, participating in and donating money to support its programs. From Mt. Shasta to Mt. Tam, and every peak in between, LUNA supports the Breast Cancer Fund's efforts to move mountains and end the silence around the environmental causes of an epidemic that now affects one in eight women.

• Throughout the season, our team will offer a variety of raffles at our events and the proceeds from each raffle will be donated to the BCF.
• We also sell Team LUNA Chix water bottles filled with a variety of our products, proceeds of which will be donated to the BCF.
• Attending our LUNAFEST Film Festival and/or bidding on items during our Silent Auction and again, proceeds from both will be donated to the BCF.
• You can also donate directly to the BCF by donating to the cause.
